ABOUT Ashton

Ashton M. Stevenson

She writes fiction rooted in real-life grit. A former wildland firefighter, rescue swimmer, park ranger, and Timbersports competitor, she’s lived the kind of stories most people only read about—chasing adrenaline across the U.S. through smoke, storms, and the unexpected.

She’s no stranger to pressure, having competed at elite levels in athletic arenas where focus, courage, and discipline are everything. But storytelling is where it all comes together—where the chaos quiets and the lessons land. Her characters reflect the tension between strength and vulnerability, fear and freedom, movement and stillness.

Now living in Hardin County, Ohio, Ashton balances a life of intense challenge with one of deep reflection. She is the author of Kindling Love and Love on the Fireline, with more stories on the way—each drawn from the wild spaces between adventure and heart.

Why I write my Story?

Raw. Relatable. Redeemed.
I write for the chaotic souls chasing healing, and the soft hearts who refuse to quit.

My stories are rooted in real-life grit, drawn from a life spent on the edge of adrenaline and in the quiet aftermath that follows. Before becoming an author, I was a wildland firefighter, a rescue swimmer, a park ranger, and a Timbersports competitor. I have run toward smoke, storms, and situations most people would only read about, and somewhere along the way, I found that storytelling was where all the chaos started to make sense.

Writing is my stillness. It is the moment where strength and vulnerability meet, where fear gives way to freedom. Through my characters, I explore that tension. Their journeys are shaped by what I have lived—high-stakes pressure, relentless movement, and moments of unexpected grace.

Now rooted in Hardin County, Ohio, I write not just to remember but to redeem. I write to offer readers stories that hug them on their worst days and laugh with them on their best. From Kindling Love to Love on the Fireline, and more to come, every page I write is a reflection of life lived fully, messy, meaningful, and fiercely human.
